Pros:

  • This product was good for both my relaxed length and natural new growth. For me, when I stretch my relaxers, doing styles that will help my two textures blend well and maintaining the demarcation line health is important to me. I like that this product worked for both of my textures and left both soft to the touch.
  • This product helps with defining my curls from braid outs and twist outs. I love using this on my hair when I’m doing a braid out because it leaves my hair defined. I apply this on damp hair and braid it up in the morning. When I take my hair down, I have less frizz than normal (I still have some frizz though) and my waves/curls are nicely defined and shiny.
  • The smell is very pleasant. You all know how much I love products that smell good. This product is no exception. It’s a little sweet, a little flowery, and an overall soft smell. I don’t think that if someone close to you got a whiff of this on your hair, they’d turn their nose up at you because your hair smells funny. Just my opinion, haha.

Cons:

  • I don’t like the fact that the packaging says that this product is infused with grapeseed and jasmine, and they are the last two ingredients on the list. To me, I feel that type of wording is trickery; sure, we have this good ingredient in here, but it’s so little of it that you won’t notice it. Being on this hair journey has helped me realize what ingredients are important to my hair growth. While I know that jasmine and grapeseed are good for your hair, I just wish that the two selling points of this product were at least 3rd or 4th on the ingredient list instead of a silicone and fragrance.

Ingredients: Water, Polyquaternium-37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Fragrance,  Polyquaternium-72, Phenyl Trimethicone, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Polyquaternium-11, Amodimethicone, Cetrimomium Chloride, Trideceth-12, Propylene Glycol, Tetrasodium Edta, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Vitis Vinifera (grape) Seed Extract,  Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower Extract

Final thoughts: I really like this hair cream. Not only is it lightweight, but it smells nice and makes my hair feel nice. I like that it does not weigh my relaxed length down, but still makes it soft like my natural hair. The price of the full size is also very attractive to me. I only had one con with this product, which you can see above. To check out more of the products by Not Your Mother’s, check out their website at http://www.nymbrands.com.
