Today’s topic is: Your current relationship. I have mentioned in the last posts that I have a fiancé, but today, I’m going to share a little more about us.
My fiancé and I have been together for 8.5 years, although we have known each other all of our lives. We went to elementary school together, where we crossed paths in kindergarten, and officially met in 2nd grade. We like to joke that we have been together for 16 years.
We started dating in 2007 in November (remember when I said my favorite season is fall? This is why) and we have been together ever since. I can tell you that road hasn’t been easy. Like all couples we have had our fights and moments where we just can’t stand each other. But you know something? There is no one else I would rather fight with than him. Sure, he can’t make me a sandwich, but he sure can fix up a great plate for me. I may not be able to make tamales like his grandmother used to make, but he will never go hungry when I’m in the kitchen.
My fiancé is the God loving, God fearing person the Heavenly Father knew I needed in my life. I have so much love for him, that even though he makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes, I still want to be with him. He prays for me, takes care of me when I’m down, and detangles my hair for me when I don’t want to do it. He’s the real MVP!
There’s so much more I want to say about him but the words leave me. I could right a book about him. But I will leave you with these thoughts. There’s no better person for me out there than him and I’m so blessed to have him. Soon, my fiancé will become my husband, and that alone excites me. I’m ready for forever with him.
I hope this post finds you happy, healthy, and blessed. Take care!
